Ground Engine | Tutorial 8 | Early Access

The source code of the 8th tutorial of the Game Engine Development Series (Ground Engine) is now available in early access!

This is probably one of our biggest tutorial ever created so far in terms of content!
In this tutorial we will see how to integrate the DirectX 11 3D Graphics Engine created in C++ 3D Game Tutorial Series.
The 3D Engine will be called Ground Renderer from now on!

In particular we will see:

  • how to reorganize all the source code files of our 3D Engine in suitable folders, like "include", "source" etc. (Integration Guide available in text format in the repo (as. txt file under the "guides" folder) and on GitHub (as Issue)
  • how to integrate the 3D Engine project inside GroundEngine project.
  • how to design and implement suitable classes, like CGraphicsSystem, in order to handle our 3D Engine inside the Game Engine
  • how to connect our Win32 Windows to the 3D Engine, in order to render the various 3D scenes in the future (now we can create multiple Windows with DirectX 11 Integrated).

As first result of the integration, we will clear the window content with a specific color.

The Design Diagrams have been updated as usual.
